In order to prepare for the sailing test event of 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games, a two-day’s internal drill including race organization, venue operations, meteorological and hydrological forecasts(see Appendix 1), security, rescue and so ontook place at the YOG venue, Jinniu Lake, Nanjing on May 24th , with the goal of strengthening internal coalescing and adjusting of the team, finding and solving problems may happen in the real test event.
The race was scheduled at two weekend days from 24th to 25th May. The wind was about 8-15 knots on the first racing day and 6-8 knots on the second racing day. There are 30 athletes who come from local primary and middle schools taking participate in OP Class racing. After 6 fierce races, Su Yikang from Lixue Primary School，Xiao Leran from Tianfeigong Primary School and Liu Zixiao from Nanjing No.50 Middle School ranked the top three places.
Overall, most of the drill run smoothly and most athletes and coaches are satisfied with the race organization and venues service. Besides, all departments of the venue team are constantly communicating with each other, coalescing and adjusting. The organizer believes that the problems found in the drill will be solved quickly and properly, fully prepared for the sailing test event of 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in June.
